Dr. Elisabeth Specht

BScPT, DDS, FAAHD

Dr. Specht received her Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Alberta in 2007.   Knowing she wanted to learn even more, she completed a General Practice Residency at the University of Alberta Hospital. She enjoyed that residency so much that she joined the UAH Hospital Dental Clinic team as a staff dentist. She loved the work, providing dental care to people with complex medical issues, special needs and head and neck cancer. Three years later, she became the Chief of Dentistry for the University of Alberta Hospital. Following this, she served the people of the Northwest Territories for several years at her dental clinic in Hay River. It was through these experiences that she decided to focus her dental career on her two biggest passions: dental surgery and sedation. 

On a more personal level, Dr. Specht loves to spend time with her beloved husband, Bernhard, her family and friends, to cuddle with all the dogs in her life, to play the piano, garden, and cook. Travelling is also high on her list of favorite things to do. She has travelled to Colombia, Peru, Nicaragua, Cambodia and Ecuador with the dental charity Kindness in Action to provide dental care to people in remote, under-served and under-privileged areas.

Dr. Specht is thrilled to team up with PerioPartners, recognizing the need for improved access to dental surgery and sedation for central Albertans.
